ET Surveyors and Valuers is a trading name of ET DevEc Ltd, which is a subsidiary company of ET Planning. ET Surveyors and Valuers are based in Oxford, and services predominantly cover the Thames Valley, and Greater London. We are however able to work across most of the UK.


Meet the Team

Derek Clarke

Director of Economics

Derek has experience in both development viability, option appraisals as well as valuation. He has worked on residential and mixed used assets with both private and public sector clients. Derek is dual qualified as both a Chartered Surveyor (P&D) and Chartered Town Planner. 

During Derek’s previous roles he has worked with many Housebuilders and Housing Associations on the delivery of residential developments and affordable housing, throughout the United Kingdom, considering the viability of developments and how delivery could be brought forward. Within valuation he has worked on development appraisals, probate valuations and the valuation of affordable housing. 

Derek holds a BA 1st Class HONS in Urban & Environmental Planning and PGDip in Town Planning from LSBU. He is RTPI, MRICS and a RICS Registered Valuer.



Kathryn Spinks-Dear

Senior Economics Planner

Kathryn joined the team after completing her Masters Degree at the London School of Economics where she studied regional and urban planning. During her studies Kathryn focused on the impacts of urban planning and created a manifesto for a just city as well as a dissertation on the modern day influence on travel to work patterns.

Kathryn works closely with other members of the Team supporting clients to understand the possibilities, and restrictions, for land development.

Outside of the office, Kathryn can often be found planning her next travel adventures having already visited 60 countries and all the continents. Kathryn also managed to take her studies across the world having moved from Australia, where she grew up, and moved to Belfast where she studied for her Geography degree at the Queen’s University. She also took a semester of her degree at the University of Amsterdam before continuing her studies and completing her Masters degree in London. Kathryn also loves to read and has over 300 books!
